Hoera! Het nieuwe IKEA jaar is onlangs weer begonnen en ondertussen heeft iedereen de nieuwe catalogus al in de brievenbus gevonden. De 328 pagina's staan weer vol met nieuwe producten en verrassende samenwerkingen om naar uit te kijken. Tijd om deze te ontdekken, kijken jullie mee?

Hooray! The new IKEA year started recently and in meantime everyone has found the new catalog in their mailbox. The 328 pages are filled with new products and surprising collaborations to look forward to. Time to discover them, take a look with me!
Het thema van de nieuwe catalogus is 'Leve elke dag' met daarbij de focus op de woonkamer. Woonoppervlaktes worden kleiner en technologie bepaalt steeds vaker ons leven. Hierdoor gaan activiteiten en woonruimtes in elkaar vloeien. De woonkamer krijgt de hoogste verwachtingen want dit is de ruimte waar we het meeste doen. Neem daarbij dat deze ruimte ook nog eens steeds kleiner wordt en het is voor IKEA een uitdaging om hier oplossingen voor te vinden. IKEA speelt hierop in met innovatieve opbergmogelijkheden en flexibele en modulaire meubels zodat deze aangepast kunnen worden aan de functie die er in de ruimte plaatsvindt. Hou tijdens het inrichten dus rekening met de dingen waarvan je houdt in het leven en je bent al een stap dichter bij je droomhuis.
Enkele collecties om naar uit te kijken zijn YPPERLIG, in samenwerking met het Deense designmerk HAY (oktober), het modulaire zetelbed van Tom Dixon voor DELAKTIG (februari) en of course de jaarlijkse VINTER collectie (oktober).

The theme of the new catalog is 'make room for life' focusing on the living room. Living areas become smaller and technology increasingly determines our lives. This causes activities and living spaces to flow together. The living room gets the highest expectations cause this is the most used room. Additionally, this space is getting smaller and it's a challenge for IKEA to find solutions. IKEA features innovative storage and flexible and modular furniture to accommodate the function that takes place in the room. Focus on the things you love when decorating and you'll be a step closer to your dream house!
A few collections to look forward to are YPPERLIG, a collaboration between Danish design agency HAY (October), Tom Dixon's modular seatbed for DELAKTIG (February) and of course the annual VINTER collection (October).
